New sweater for myself

I needed a new sweater - saw myself in the same sweaters all the time so I wanted to knit myself a new one.

I saw this one and feel in love straight away.

Pattern : Open Long Sweater from Tova
Yarn : Sirri - 3 ply
Needles : 5,5 mm and 8,0 mm

Needed a break

Well...I'm back from a break. I just didn't feel like bloggin so I didn't. I've been busy doing other things but I have been knitting all the time though.

Finished Great Weekend Mitts

These were a fun project but next time I will knit them in the round. I knitted them flat and then sewed them together and I hate sewing so I have to knit another pair.
I used Alpaca from Drops and casted on just as the pattern says but they're too small. I saw this as I knitted but decided to knit them anyway and maybe use them as a gift. Also I think they're maybe a bit too long - well we'll see how the next pair will look like.

By the way I think this is a great Christmas gift for girls. My son who is modelling thought they were great football gloves just with the wrong color :-)

The Great Weekend Mitts

I love these mitts...when I saw them I had to store the pattern right a way and last night I started knitting them. The pattern is easy to follow and I'm looking forward to finish them.

I'm using the lovely yarn Alpaca from Drops and stitches 3,5 mm

Very easy cowl - it is

I finished the cowl knitted with Fame Trend last night and I love it. It's truly fast and the easiest thing to knit.

I made two small changes :

• I didn't knit it 40 cm but instead about 30 or 35 cm
• Instead of slipping every second stitch I slipped every 10. stitch

Knitting a very easy cowl

I have had this beautiful yarn called Fame Trend in my stash. It's so beautiful that I wanted to knit something special out of it. I started on 22,5 degrees but after awhile it wasn't exactly what I expected.

Sweater number 3

This is the third sweater of this kind so I can nearly knit this in my sleep.
This sweater is for my sisters second oldest son (age 14) and he was very pleased with the result. It makes me happy to see my knitting is being used.
The first sweater was for my brother (age 20) and the second was for my sisters oldest son (age 16).
I did take a picture of all three of them together wearing the sweater, so this will come.

Pattern : from Navia
Stiches : 6 mm and 7 mm
Yarn : Navia duo

Orange shrug

I love this shrug but this is not for me. I have knitted it for my brother's girlfriend.
Her birthday is on Thursday and I want to give her something special because she is such a loving person.

This pattern has been on my list for future projects for a long time now and finally I got it out of my system. I love it so much that I want to knit one to myself.

I had to change the pattern a bit but it turned out great.

I used Sirri Color and the pattern is from a faroese magazine.

Slippers for my youngest

My youngest son just started preschool class and the classroom is in the basement of the big school and the floors are so cold.
I asked my son to pick out some colors and then I knitted these slippers for him the wear when he's in school.
I bought some latex in a bottel and with a brush I painted latex under the sole. It was perfekt.

A small fun project

Instead of a triangle scarf which are very popular these days I went trough my stash and found some 100% cotton. Casted on and knitted some fun patterns. It turned out great and I love it. It keeps my neck all warm and it's looks decorative.

The yarn I used is called Chili and is not for sale any more (so sad) and I used stitches 5,0 mm.

I will knit more of these in different colors so I always have something to wear around my neck no matter what color of blouse I'm wearing.
